How to clean dirty

even STINKY ones

Flip flops are the only thing standing between you and the dirty ground. Dust, dirt and grime  combine with moisture from puddles, rain or foot sweat and leave a filthy mess on your flip flops.

Flip flop stink is caused by bacteria mixing with sweat. The bacteria breeds and gives off a bad smell. You can remove the cause of the odor by killing the bacteria.

Use one of 2 common household items to disinfect your flip flops: 1. Hydrogen Peroxide 2. Rubbing Alcohol

How to clean and disinfect your flip flops

Use an old toothbrush to apply the peroxide all over the flip flop. Let sit for 30 seconds, then scrub until clean. Scrub the top and then the bottom.

Use an old toothbrush to apply the alcohol all over the flip flop. Let sit for 30 seconds, then scrub until clean. Scrub the top and then the bottom.

If your flip flops are dirty but not stinky, try a few drops of Dawn or other dish soap in some warm water. Scrub with an old toothbrush until clean.

Baking soda is an excellent stain remover. Dip a wet toothbrush into some baking soda and start scrubbing. Continue the process until the entire flip flop is clean.

It's safe to machine wash flip flops made of rubber, foam, plastic or other water resistant materials. Use cool water and and a gentle cycle.

Washing machine

Putting flip flops in the dryer could melt or otherwise damage them. Air dry, preferably in direct sunlight. The sun has disinfectant properties and can help kill bacteria
